Essay Contests for Middle schoolers
Annual Writing Contest sponsored by the Minneapolis Commission on Civil Rights. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 who attend schools in Minneapolis are invited to compete in the 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Essay Contest. Full contest instructions is to write about the importance of the “I Have A Dream” speech both when it was delivered 50 years ago and on the continued relevance today. June 19th, 2014: Award Ceremony at event celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the passage of the Civil Rights Act. First place winners will read a portion of their essays in front of a large audience.
