Creative Writing Contests Montreal

Highlights of past CNFC Events:

Thanks to the terrific organizational effort of CNFC member Julija Sukys, Montreal’s Cafe Mariposa was the scene of another successful Reading Cabaret. Featured readers included David Waltner-Toews, Jane Hamilton Silcott, Kitty Hoffman, Maria Schamis Turner, Merrily Weisbord, Mark Abley, Myrl Coulter, Susan Olding, and Taras Grescoe. It was a full house, complete with a busy book table. We look forward to more CNFC Reading Cabarets in the future.

Stranger Than Fiction Cabaret, Toronto. May 25, 2011

A CNFC literary cabaret drew a standing-room-only crowd to Harbord House in Toronto. Featured readers included Ken McGoogan, Wayne Grady, Merilyn Simonds, Myrna Kostash,

and Andrew Westoll. In between readings, both the bar and the book table were busy spots. The Cabaret style is a great opportunity to hear the astonishing array of voices, tones, and subjects the creative nonfiction genre brings to its audiences. We definitely want more of these.
