Creative Writing Contests cash prizes

The Center for Writing
Undergrad students enrolled in an accredited college are invited to enter this year's Norton Writer's Prize for a chance to win a $1, 500 cash prize for the best nonfiction piece of prose. A second-place writer will also receive a $1, 000 prize.

The judges welcome well-written compositions that reflect the type of writing most common in an academic undergraduate course. These can include narratives, essays, fictional stories, textual studies, biographies, histories, blended genre themes, etc.

For eligibility, students must have their teachers nominate their works and submit a summary of the said work's best attributes. Word length is 1K to 3K words.
